LIGHT CANOPY

design

fabric: form, and performance

The Light Canopy is designed to be a tensile, 80 module, multi-state light filtration surface with invertible apertures that allow variable compositions of direct or reflected sunlight. It was designed in a Pratt Institute Architecture seminar designed and taught by Mark Parsons, titled “Fabric: Form and Performance.” The material and CNC assembly process was donated by sponsor Sperry Sails.
